The Last Viceroy

Nice open fires. Great for a pint and a park. Huge garden. It&#39;s a pub that does food, not a restaurant. Food and menu well above average for pub grub. The first two wines we tried to order were out of stock. Service isn&#39;t fully waited , had to get water, wine list, bill and someone to take payment by visiting the staff table at the end of the bar by the welcome point.  Bill was rectified swiftly.

We were politely received by friendly staff but waited a good half hour from ordering our food before it was discovered that the kitchen had forgotten us.  So our main courses were rushed to our table before our starters and they had to be put on  one side while our starters were organised.  Luckily our main courses were salads and came to no harm.  In general the service was friendly but desperately slow all through the meal.

Excellent all round! Lovely touches for Easter without being too much, attentive service, delicious food, great value, lovely atmosphere, would thoroughly recommend, thank you!
